Free Concert
Family Fun
Each year, CalPhil provides a free symphony concert, along with educational activities for L.A. County families and children, providing a much-needed remedy to the lack of symphonic music and music education activities during the summer.
2009′s CalPhil Family Night, held on August 21, 2009, was the most successful to date! Nearly 2,000 residents from L.A. County attended the concert demonstrating the great demand for live orchestral music. Word is out that this is the fun way to introduce live performance of classical music to kids and their caregivers. What’s more, there’s all sorts of fun to be had before the concert!
Family Night allows the California Philharmonic to give back to the community. The event provides families with fine symphonic music in a comfortable, informal and natural environment—all for free. CalPhil Family Night whets the appetite for live music and offers stimulating musical activities and training for children. Music education booths offer conducting, a drawing station, and “Build Your Own Instrument” factory, to name a few. All are welcome to attend this exciting and educational event.
Dress casually and prepare yourself for a fun-filled experience, but we will not be selling alcohol, addition, alcohol is not to be brought into the venue.
